When and why did you join Bond Davidson?
I first joined BD in early 2004; at the time I was looking for fresh challenges within an enthusiastic and progressive consultancy. After meeting Malcolm and Matthew, I definitely knew that Bond Davidson was the perfect company for me.
What did you do before Bond Davidson?
After graduating, I worked for a national “developer/contractor” before travelling the world for a year. I subsequently worked in London for six years; initially at a “blue chip” international construction consultancy, where I achieved Chartered status, then at a much smaller “boutique” consultancy.
Do you have a career highlight?
Many! Becoming a Chartered Surveyor with the RICS was a real milestone in my career and I have since taken great satisfaction in helping several others achieve similar status.
On the professional side, experience at Bond Davidson of three luxury residential developments in Kensington Palace Gardens have been remarkable. Additionally, involvement in construction of One New Change, London City’s only proper retail centre (opposite St. Paul’s Cathedral), pre-construction involvement in a new middle-eastern airport and master-planning of a brand new middle-eastern city have all been definite highlights.
What keeps you motivated?
The variety of work, range of projects, daily challenges and regular collaboration with intelligent, exacting and passionate professionals. I take great pride and pleasure in helping deliver a carefully considered, high quality, bespoke service and working hard with terrific teams to achieve delivery of so many top-class and fascinating projects.
What keeps you busy at the weekends?
I thoroughly enjoy spending time with my lovely wife and “adorable” young children; again, the latter can be hard work, but very rewarding! I’m happy to share that I have an amazing extended family and various groups of friends. All this keeps me very busy; I like to tell myself that surely, at some point in the future, I’ll have more time for mountain-biking, golf, playing squash, going to concerts and sporting events!
