When and why did you join Bond Davidson?
I joined Bond Davidson in 2008 having completed 2 years as a Graduate Surveyor for a multi-national company in the City. I gained a great deal of experience in the design and project management side of the industry. An opportunity came up at Bond Davidson to join a young and ambitious multidisciplinary company which had a wide variety of projects and expansive client base. There was also a strong focus on core building surveying duties which enabled me to obtain the breadth and depth of experience required to complete my APC.
Do you have a career highlight?
I have a few!
From reaching my personal target of achieving RICS Chartered Surveyor Status with the support of Bond Davidson, to leading a small team that designed and project managed the development of an international retail chain opening approximately 80 stores in 2 years.
My most memorable and challenging project was the successful delivery of an external masonry repair to a large complex commercial property in Mayfair whilst the London 2012 Olympics were being held.
What keeps you motivated?
The thought of learning something new every day.
No project is the same and that is where the enjoyment comes in – experiencing new challenges and learning new skills. One of the fortunate aspects of Building Surveying is the variety it can offer. I find a buzz in being able to meet a client’s requirements within a broad spectrum using my skill sets.
What keeps you busy on weekends?
I very much enjoy spending time with my friends and family. Aside from this I like a challenge, and having already completed the London Marathon and Staffordshire Half Iron Man, I have now moved on to Triathlons!
